Who We Are

Stem Splitter Team operates this audio separation service. This policy explains what information we process, why we process it, how long we retain it, and the choices available to you.

Information We Collect

We process the following categories of information:

1. Account information: name, email address, authentication records, and account preferences.
2. Audio job information: the audio file you upload, selected processing mode, source duration, generated stems, exported mixes, and technical job status.
3. Billing information: plan, order, subscription, payment status, and audio-minute balance. Payment providers process full card or payment credentials; we do not store full card numbers.
4. Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, error records, security events, and feature interactions needed to operate and protect the service.
5. Cookies and local storage: session, security, preference, and limited product-state data.

How We Use Your Information

We use this information to:

• authenticate users and maintain accounts;
• upload, separate, preview, mix, and export audio at your request;
• measure source duration and deduct the correct number of audio minutes;
• process purchases, renewals, cancellations, and billing records;
• secure the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and provide support;
• meet legal, accounting, and compliance obligations.

Audio Files and Retention

Uploaded source audio, preview files, separated stems, and exported mixes are stored privately and are scheduled to expire after 24 hours. Lifecycle cleanup is asynchronous, while signed download links expire sooner than the underlying files. Do not treat a signed link as permanent storage.

Task metadata and billing records may remain after audio deletion so we can show job status, maintain audio-minute balances, investigate failures, and meet legal obligations. We do not claim ownership of uploaded audio or generated stems.

Service Providers

We use service providers only as needed to run the service. Depending on the deployed configuration, these include:

• Vercel for application hosting and audio export compute;
• Cloudflare R2 for private audio object storage;
• fal.ai for AI audio separation, with request payload storage disabled and media expiration configured for 24 hours;
• the payment provider shown at checkout for payment processing and fraud controls;
• configured email, authentication, error monitoring, or analytics providers where those features are enabled.

These providers process information under their own security and privacy terms. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to available contractual and legal safeguards.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We disclose information only:

• to the service providers described above;
• when required by law or a valid legal request;
• to investigate abuse, fraud, security threats, or violations of our Terms;
• as part of a business transfer, with appropriate notice and safeguards.

Data Security

We use encrypted transport, private object storage, expiring signed links, access controls, and limited retention for audio. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention Beyond Audio

Account information is retained while the account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for security, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Billing and transaction records may be kept for the period required by accounting, tax, and payment rules. Operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for security and reliability.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete personal information, and to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. Account settings provide some of these controls. You may submit other requests through the support address in the site footer. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

Your Audio Responsibilities

Only upload audio you own or are authorized to process. Audio separation does not grant copyright, performance, publicity, or other rights in the source recording or generated stems.

Children

The service is not directed to children who cannot legally consent to online services in their location. Do not use the service if you do not meet the applicable minimum age without valid parental or guardian authorization.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice when required.
